Born in Riosucio, Caldas in 2009, Barú Swimwear is a Colombian brand built around a love for fashion, craftsmanship, and authentic design. Founded by Paula Villa and Daniel González, Barú brings together contemporary swimwear with the beauty and soul of Colombian craftsmanship.

Its swimwear is crafted in Colombia using high-performance textiles, exclusive prints, and carefully finished details. Many of its signature pieces feature hand embroidery created by artisans in Caldas, bringing together modern design and traditional craftsmanship.
Behind every embroidered piece are the hands and stories of Colombian artisans, including women from rural and Indigenous communities, mothers who are heads of household, and others who have found opportunities through Barú's work. The brand also works with incarcerated men through embroidery programs that provide opportunities for transformation and skill-building.
